Actually, I really look forward the anime version of this manga. Why? Because At first the plot is so Shounen-Ai...aahahahahhahahahhaha... @onion9@ but After read the 2 vol. of the manga that already licensed in my country, the manga turned out to be so interesting with the Josei and romance plot of 1960 - 1970's in Japan. And of course, the MUSIC PLOT even though the romance and drama still the main plot (which I love so much, much more like NODAME CANTABILE that I love) really interesting. The Jazz music as the background of shared love between the main male characters just lovely and of course the Bromance just awesome, love triangle or maybe quadrangle? @onion20@ make me want to read it more...but unfortunately in my country only 2 volume that being translated. @onion22@ Still waiting for it and of course The Anime, Spring 2012 anime, Sakamichi no Apollon, I will wait it patiently!!! @onion14@

For the Information: (wikipedia)

Kids on the Slope (坂道のアポロン Sakamichi no Aporon?, "Apollo on the Slope") is a Japanese manga series by Yūki Kodama. It will be adapted into an anime television series subtitled Kids on the Slope in 2012.[1] It will be directed by Shinichirō Watanabe at MAPPA and Tezuka Productions with music provided by acclaimed composer Yoko Kanno, reuniting the two who previously worked together on Macross Plus and Cowboy Bebop.

Plot

The beginning of summer, 1966.

Because of his father's job situation, freshman high school student Kaoru Nishimi moves by himself from Yokosuka to Kyushu to live with relatives. Until then, Kaoru was an honor roll student who tended to keep to himself, but meeting notorious bad boy Sentaro Kawabuchi starts to change him. Through his devil-may-care classmate, Kaoru learns the attractions of jazz and finds the first person he can call a “friend”. He also discovers how much fun it is to play music with a pal.

Other characters include Sentaro's kind childhood chum, Ritsuko, who is the daughter of a record shop owner; the mysterious upperclassman, Yurika; and Brother Jun, the much-admired leader among their peers. Set against the backdrop of a seaside town with a scent of American culture, this series is a drama about young people coming into their own, crossing each other's paths, and finding friendship, love, and music!

An absolute must read manga or must watch anime. I love how the two main characters acts in this anime. You won't ever find something like this except in yaoi (you know where the glasses guy cried after hearing Sentaro's family stories.

I didn't know they were planning an anime, I'll look for it @onion1@
Anyway, Yuki Kodama's art is beautiful, and the story is that awesome that I don't really mind the fact that it's Josei and not shunen ai (I'm beginning to like more girlish things lately, am I walking to my doom? ^^)
